What a creative whirlwind 2024 has been for the team at House Designer, we’ve had the absolute joy of crafting some truly spectacular spaces this year. From sophisticated living rooms to calming bedrooms and jaw-dropping garden transformations, each project has been a labour of love, blending functionality with style. As we prepare to step into another exciting year, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the designs that truly stood out. These are the spaces that made us step back and say, “Wow.” Not just because they’re beautiful, but because they brought our clients’ visions to life in ways that exceeded expectations. Let’s walk you through our favourite designs of 2024. Trust us, you’ll find plenty of inspiration here, whether you’re dreaming of a home refresh or a garden makeover. Let’s dive in!
Luxurious Yet Grounded: The Earthy Living Room
This living room is all about balance—clean, modern lines meet warm, earthy tones. We started with a soft cream sectional sofa as the foundation, then layered it with olive green cushions and rich bronze accents for a touch of luxe. The centrepiece? A stunning coffee table with sculptural details that anchors the room beautifully.
The oversized abstract artwork brings a sense of movement and drama, tying the whole room together.
Always layer textures when working with a neutral palette. It’s the secret to making a space feel cosy, not flat.
Open-Plan Living, Effortlessly Cosy
Creating flow in an open-plan space is always a fun challenge, and this design nails it. A curved sectional sofa provides a natural focal point, while the tufted ottoman and drop-leaf dining table add multifunctional charm. The colour palette stays soft and neutral, letting the natural textures in the furniture shine.
The combination of wicker and light wood tones keeps the space feeling organic and grounded, even in a large open-plan area.
A Bold Mix of Curves and Colour
This space makes a strong statement with its curved white sofa, striking black coffee table, and blush accent chair. We introduced gold mirrors and geometric artwork for an extra layer of sophistication. The result? A space that feels dynamic, playful, and perfectly polished.
Designer’s Tip: Curves add softness to a room dominated by strong contrasts, making the design feel balanced.
Relaxed Elegance for Every Day Living
We kept it natural and sophisticated in this open-plan layout by combining a neutral sofa with understated yet impactful brass accents. The clean lines of the furniture ensure the space feels uncluttered, while the herringbone cabinet brings a subtle texture that catches the eye without overwhelming the room. Pastel cushions in soft greens and patterns inject a refreshing hint of colour, perfectly balanced by the light wood tones in the dining table and shelving.
Why We Love It: The pastel touches bring a subtle pop of colour, making the space feel fresh and inviting.
Scandinavian Elegance in the Conservatory
Scandi simplicity is at the heart of this conservatory design. A crisp white dining table, paired with a wooden bench and armchair, creates an effortlessly chic vibe. The wavy-edged mirror adds just the right touch of intrigue to this minimalistic space.
Why We Love It: It’s proof that minimalism doesn’t mean boring—it’s all about selecting pieces that are functional yet beautiful.
Dark and Dramatic Sitting Room
This sitting room celebrates bold contrasts with its deep green feature wall and wooden slats. The soft grey seating lightens the mood, while the metallic gold accents bring a touch of glamour. This design is the perfect example of how to create drama while keeping a space cosy.
The deep green wall feels grounding, especially when paired with warm metallics and light-coloured furniture.
A Tranquil Principal Bedroom
This bedroom design is a retreat in every sense of the word. A tufted headboard sets the tone, with terracotta accents adding warmth. Layered throws and pampas grass complete the look, creating a space that’s equal parts stylish and restful.
Modern Monochrome with a Twist
This Japandi open-plan design combines sleek monochrome elements with natural materials for warmth. The black-and-white artwork is a standout feature, while the woven pouffe and greenery keep the space feeling organic.
Monochrome spaces can feel cold without softer elements like woven textures or plants.
